| Materials The preferred building medium at Hobbit Homes is cob, a mixture of earth, straw and water. We also work with straw bale, stone, wood, bamboo, light and heavy clay and wattle and daub. Materials are site dependent and a lot of consideration is given to transportation costs and accessibility. All efforts are made to use local and reusable building materials. |
